Review
Naztech Universal Dashboard and Window Mount with an item number of 10550 is a car docking station for your Smartphone or GPS tracker and it works with a suction cap that attaches to any car’s dashboard or can also be attached to the windshield.
Design
Design wise it is a simple car docking station that is designed with a suction cap and a holding arm and is made almost entirely from plastic. This device has a black color and the dimensions are 8 inches x 3 inches x 8 inches (20.3 cm x 7.6 cm x 20.3 cm) so it is fairly small and compact and the diameter of that suction base is around 6 inches (15.24 cm) so it will be small enough to fit almost any dashboard. The whole device looks quite stylish with all those hinges that allow you to rotate your phone 360 degree around that suction base.
I must admit that the plastic that is used here feels a little bit cheap but it has held up nicely in the course of several months so there should be no problems with it whatsoever. In general the design is created to be as useful as possible and every twist and turn is there to have a specific functionality but those curved shapes make this device great to look at but also won’t hurt your fingers if you try to mount or un-mount your Android Smartphone on a very bumpy road.
Mount
The device is held in place with a gel suction pad that works with one press of a button and that means you can attach it and remove it in seconds without any hassle or fuss. When you feel that this gel pad is losing grip from constant On and Off motions you just need to submerge it in water clean it off and it will work as it was brand new. And this is the biggest advantage to these gel-pads as they are versatile and reusable.
The holding arm as I mentioned before can be rotated 360 degrees around the suction mount and this is done with two hinges that each cover its own axis and gives you that freedom of movement. The mounting mechanism itself is also very versatile and easy to use as it has been designed to allow you to mound and dismount your Smartphone with only a single button and that is quite convenient if you ask me. There are 3 different pins that will hold your device and they are both holding ears/arms on both sides but also a supporting arm that allows you to hold your Smartphone in a vertical position.
This whole dock can be mounted in a wide range or positions starting from that upright position of your dashboard to the downward facing one on your windshield but it will also work on horizontal surfaces and anything in-between where you can think of mounting this device.
Summary
Overall I feel that this is a really great little addition to anyone’s car that allows you to mount your Android Smartphone in this docking station, charge it up and this device gives you that upright position that is needed when navigating through small city streets or cruising on a highway. I like the price and the fact that this can be used for many different devices including Android smart phones.
