Motorola HD dock is a docking station specially designed for Motorola phones and tablets and it is created to work with most of the Motorola products. This docking station is made by Motorola itself and is a genuine accessory of this company. The whole dock has the dimensions of 8.7 inches x 1.5 inches x 6 inches (118mm x 95mm x 45mm) and it weighs around 10 ounces (120 grams) so it is a fairly large dock as it is designed to fit Smartphone’s and tablets. Motorola has made this device with all their products in mind so the design and shape is created in a way to support all their products from small to large. The whole device is made entirely from plastic and it has an interesting leaning shape. If you look at the front there is a red line that gives you the middle of this dock and if nothing is docked on this cradle then you can see that M Logo at the spot where that Android phone should sit. This backside is customizable to fit all Motorola products with extended batteries and without them but also will hold tablets with external protective cases and other accessories and that is quite convenient.
At the back of this device there are three ports where one is mini USB one is mini HDMI but the third is a 3.5 mm audio jack so you will be able to watch videos listen to music and charge your phone when all three of these are connected. Apart from some high end docking stations a mini HDMI port is a big surprise and it is also one of the best advantages to particularly this docking station.
This Docking station has a very great design as it is made by Motorola itself and that is a great advantage as it easily goes together with other Motorola products like the Xoom tablet or Droid Smartphone. As I told earlier this is not a small dock but the design makes it look light and it will not stand out on your desk and look like any other appliance or accessory that you have there.
With this HD docking station you will be able to charge most Android Smartphones as Motorola also uses the micro USB connector and that is quite convenient as your family members or friends will also be able to charge up their phones while they are visiting without taking any charger cables and trying to find an outlet to plug it inside. The availability of HDMI and 3.5 mm AUX cables creates a real home audio system from you Smartphone or tablet as you will be able to watch movies, listen to music and play video games as well as browse the internet and chat from you home TV and at the same time do other things from the tablet as it has this extended desktop mode.
I really like this dock but some customers are complaining about the connection pins that slides around and need to be placed in a correct manner in order to facilitate phone or a tablet and that aligning process is not that easy but after you have managed to dock your device it will be as hard to take it off because these connectors are really tight. Overall there are some great aspects and some bad ones but I feel that Motorola users will like this dock and will enjoy all those benefits it gives.
