This Android docking station has the dimensions of 7.5 inches x 1.5 inches x 4.5 inches (19 cm x 3.8 cm x 11.4 cm) so it is a very small and compact device but it weighs only 11.8 ounces (333 grams) so it is very lightweight. This size and dimensions does not matter that much because the best part about this dock is that it can be folded together to form a more compact and even more portable design that can be taken with you on any trip or outdoor adventure.
The design of this device is not that great and it feels a little bit cheap as it is made entirely from plastic and has a white color that usually creates a fairly bad combination. But if you examine it closer it does not feel so bad and this speaker dock starts showing its power in the form of cool looking four 1W loudspeakers that have a black outer rim and a white/shiny inner rim. The whole design of this dock is not that surprising but that folding mechanism is great addition as you can fold it together to form a box-like shape that will be very portable and nice looking. However when this dock is in that unfolded state it has a great little cradle where to position your Smartphone that has the company’s logo on it.
The thing that I did not like about this is that those speaker wings or those folding arms are screwed together with 4 screws each and they have not made an effort to hide those holes and at the top the button for on/off options and the volume controls just feel cheap and like they won’t last even a year.
Functionality wise this is simply a speaker that can be powered with either 4 AA batteries, or an AC adapter. When you run it from batteries you can get somewhere around 15 hours of play time with middle volume settings but extend that to maybe 20 hours with low volume but reduce to 10 hours if you crank it up on the max. The sound quality from those small 1W speakers is surprisingly good as I was expecting something really terrible from a device like this. But actually if you don’t crank it up to the max it sounds pretty awesome and obviously better than that built in loudspeaker in your Smartphone. To dock your Android Smartphone you have to plug that supplied 3.5 mm AUX cable and you are good to go as there are no other options or features to mention here. In this playback mode your phone will probably last longer than playing music trough your loudspeaker and that means more music for you but because there is that cradle you can move this device around with your phone in place!
Overall I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality and the build quality was not that bad considering that low price. The feature that you can run this on battery’s is great and you can also plug it in that wall outlet and enjoy your music collection from your phone or mp3 player.
